Recommendations for using steamers: 1. Use paper liners or cabbage leaves in the steamer for easier cleaning. 2. Fill the steamer with your favorite foods such as dim sum, dumplings, buns, vegetables, seafood, meat, rice, etc. Stack the steamer with the lid. 3. Bring water to a simmer in a pan or wok, then place the steamer in the pan or wok once the water has boiled. 4. Steam for 10-20 minutes depending on the type of food, then enjoy your meal.

Basic Concepts & Advice for Steaming 1. Steaming food is a classic and straightforward technique. This steamer is crafted to be placed on top of a pot filled with boiling water. As the water boils, the steam ascends into the steamer through the open slots at the base and is enclosed within the steamer by the lid. 2. The steamer absorbs any moisture, preventing water from dripping back onto the food. When heated, it becomes a warm vessel and can maintain food's warmth for around thirty minutes when covered.

When cooking dry foods like bread and dim sum, place a paper liner or cabbage leaves at the bottom of the steamer to avoid sticking. For seafood, meat, and tofu, steam them in a shallow, heat-resistant dish to collect the delicious and nutritious broth.

To keep your bamboo steamer clean, use a mixture of vinegar and hot water to wipe it several times, then rinse with clean water.

Wash by hand using soap and warm water to prolong its lifespan. Avoid using a dishwasher as it is not safe. Remove any food residue during cleaning. After washing, allow the steamer to air dry completely. Store it in a cool, dry place. Excessive drying may cause cracking. If not used frequently or for an extended period, boil the steamer in hot water for a while and then let it air dry. Do not leave the steamer submerged in water for an extended period.

Avoid covering the bamboo steamer with plastic to avoid moisture buildup. Avoid placing other pots and pans on top of the steamer to prevent it from breaking. Refrain from using harsh cleaning agents that could harm the bamboo surface.
